Hey, I'm Jon, and this is my blog. Think of it as a digital journal of sorts. I want to write about my journey to living better. To me, living better means being healthier, having stronger relationships, having less stress, and knowing myself well.
Back in university, a good friend and I started what was called a Mastermind Group. It gave us an opportunity to develop ourselves, understand and achieve our goals, and to talk about things we wouldn't normally talk about. One of the things we brought up was this concept of "The Process". The process by which we went from where we were to where we want to be. The underlying theme of The Process was to change how we think so that we could build better habits and get into a cycle of continuous improvement. We needed to be open-minded, and honest with ourselves for any of this to work.
There's no right way or wrong way to live well. For me, I'm learning that meditation, stoicism, minimalism and good old fashioned curiosity help me. For you, it may be different. I want to explore the many different perspectives and ideas out there, consider their applications to my life, and see what works and what doesn't, and keep the things that do work. That's really what the process is. Research, consideration, experimentation, application.
Living a good life has many aspects: physical health, mental health, financial stability, strong relationships, a sense of fulfillment, good habits, and it all starts with changing how you think. I'll cover many topics related to The Process and how I incorporate them into my life. I'm excited to start on this adventure, and I hope you'll join me.
